An injection-molded plastic model of the American light attack aircraft Douglas A-4M Skyhawk from the Japanese manufacturer Hasegawa in 1:48 scale. The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; it is a classic plastic kit to glue and spray. The model captures the late Super Mike version with a modified nose, the dorsal avionics hump and a new intake. For the exact package contents (the number of parts, the decals and any photo-etch), follow the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
The A-4 Skyhawk was a compact carrier attack aircraft designed by Ed Heinemann with the emphasis on small size and low weight, so that it managed without folding wings. The A-4M version was the last large-series form intended for the US Marine Corps: it received a more powerful engine, an enlarged canopy with a better view and updated avionics. The Skyhawk served for decades as a reliable carrier of bombs and rockets and as a training machine.
Finish and spray the cockpit and the landing gear bays before you close the fuselage. Use liquid cement for plastic, sand the joints and apply the base coat over a primer, ideally with an airbrush in thin coats. Spray a gloss coat under the decals so that they do not silver, and even the surface out at the end with a matte overcoat. Fit the drop tanks and the armament at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
