Stencils for spraying the national insignia and markings of the single-seat A-7D and the two-seat A-7K in 1:48 scale. This is not cockpit coverage but the markings on the fuselage and the wing, which are thus created directly out of paint. The carrier film of a decal falls away, nothing shines against the finish around it and the insignia stands up to thorough weathering. It is based on the dimensions of the Hasegawa or Hobby Boss kits.
The A-7D was a single-seat attack aircraft of the US Air Force with a 20 mm cannon and a turbofan engine derived from a British design. The A-7K came about as a two-seat variant for the National Guard, which kept its Corsairs in service long after regular units had exchanged them for newer aircraft. It was the Guard machines that carried the most colorful markings, from striking state symbols to a subdued gray form. Corsairs flew from land and from decks and their career runs from the fighting in Southeast Asia to operations in the Middle East at the beginning of the 1990s.
