A color set of 3D-printed interior decals from Quinta Studio for models of the Japanese A6M2 Zero carrier fighter from Nakajima production, in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor photo-etch: they are three-dimensional, pre-painted decals on a flexible film that you apply straight into the cockpit. The panels have a raised multi-level structure and dial faces covered with a gloss coat for a glass look. The target kit is Academy.
The A6M2 Zero was a Japanese carrier fighter famous for its great range and its agility. At the start of the war in the Pacific it dominated air combat, and it was built by two manufacturers, Mitsubishi and Nakajima, with the individual productions differing in cockpit details.
The parts are lifted off the sheet and applied much like decals with lukewarm water. The thicker film is best fixed with cyanoacrylate or another suitable glue; do not use ordinary decal setting solutions. The interior gains realistic depth without photo-etch and without painting the dials by hand.
The set holds interior decals only. The base Academy kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
