A resin detail part, not an airplane kit. This finely cast resin set replaces the exhaust pipes of the Japanese Mitsubishi A6M5a Zero carrier fighter in 1:48 scale. Compared with the earlier aircraft, the A6M5a version had individual short exhaust pipes that give the rear of the engine its characteristic look. The casting captures them with hollowed openings more exactly than the parts from the box. The part is meant for advanced modelers with resin experience.
On late Zeros the individual exhaust pipes are conspicuous and the way they are rendered has a strong effect on the overall impression. The resin casting offers thin walls and open mouths, so you do not have to drill the exhausts out laboriously. Once painted in metallic and rust shades and lightly weathered, the burnt metal looks entirely natural.
