This resin detail set holds a faithfully rendered ACES II ejection seat in its late form in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but an accessory with which you replace the simplified seat from a plastic kit and so markedly raise the realism of the cockpit.
The ACES II (Advanced Concept Ejection Seat) is an American ejection seat that became the standard on a number of jet combat aircraft of the second half of the 20th century. It is marked by the characteristic shape of its back, its harness system and its ejection mechanism. The late version differs from the earlier forms in the details of the equipment and the harness.
First wash the parts free of mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) for bonding. The seat comes into its own once painted and the harness and the details picked out gently.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin accessory for a kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
