An accessory set of cast parts in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Brengun. According to the name it holds eight AGM-114 Hellfire missiles and two launcher racks. It is not a kit of an aircraft or a helicopter — it is armament intended to complete a carrier you already have under way. The set replaces the coarser stores from ordinary injection molds, where sharp edges tend to be rounded off and surface detail suppressed by the parting line.
The AGM-114 Hellfire is an American short-range air-to-ground guided missile, introduced in the 1980s. It was originally created as an anti-armor weapon for attack helicopters, and later spread to unmanned aircraft and light reconnaissance machines as well. Depending on the version it is guided by a reflected laser beam or by its own radar seeker. The missiles are carried on launcher racks, which hold two to four of them — which is exactly why the set offers the racks themselves alongside the missiles.
First separate the parts carefully from the casting gates. With resin castings it is advisable to wash them in warm water with detergent before gluing, so that remains of mold release agent are removed — otherwise the paint holds badly. They glue with super glue, and plastic parts with ordinary thin cement for plastic. If you sand, protect your airways and work wet. Lay on a thin primer before painting, then spray the base shade with an airbrush — small stores are hard to even out with a brush. Glue the racks onto the pylon only after painting; check the fit of the missiles on the rack dry while the glue is still soft.
This is an accessory, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check that the set matches the scale and type of your own model.
