This is not a kit but an add-on photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, made for refining the exterior of a model of the AH-1Z Viper attack helicopter in 1:48 scale. The brass photo-etched parts replace and complete elements that cannot be molded from plastic in sufficient fineness.
It focuses on the exterior of the airframe: fine grilles and engine bay covers, small stiffeners, brackets, covers and flat detail on the surface. The result is a more faithful and more three-dimensional surface which, once painted, lifts the overall impression of the model considerably.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife and make the bends over an edge or in a photo-etch bender. Super glue (cyanoacrylate) or a special adhesive for photo-etch works well for gluing; degrease the surfaces before gluing. The small parts are best painted with an airbrush.
The photo-etched set is an accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
