A resin detail set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It is not an airplane model but a set of AIM-9B Sidewinder short-range air-to-air missiles in 1:48 scale. The package contains four complete missiles, the forward control fins cast separately, transparent seeker heads in separate clear resin and photo-etched elements.
The AIM-9B was the first production version of the legendary infrared-guided Sidewinder. The weapon appeared on Western fighters and, through exports, on a number of Soviet types as well, so the missiles will find use under the wings of a wide range of models. The clear castings of the seeker heads reproduce the glass of the seeker optics well.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand them with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Align the forward fins using the enclosed photo-etched jig. Paint the body in light gray or white, add the color bands according to training or live rounds and leave the seeker head glossy.
This is an accessory, not a complete kit. It requires a matching base model, which is not included in the package. Glue and paints are not enclosed.
