Markings in 1:48 scale for Phantom IIs in the F-4C and F-4D versions in the period when they served with the flying units of the Air National Guard. The designation Part 1 says that the theme continues in a further part. What exactly the sheet contains is not stated here; neither the number nor the selection of machines can be told from the name. You are buying the markings alone, without a model.
The F-4C was the first production form of the Phantom II for the US Air Force, derived from the naval variant and adapted to land-based operation; among other things it received dual controls and different wheels. The F-4D that followed already had avionics tailored to US Air Force needs, which showed mainly in the way guided weapons were used. After leaving the front-line units both versions went through a long second career with Guard units, where they flew for years after more modern types had replaced them in the active US Air Force.
The Phantom has an intricate fuselage spine and many protruding aerials, over which large insignia are difficult to apply. Work in smaller sections and have a brush with soft bristles ready for settling them. Apply the sealing varnish in several light passes, so that it does not flood into the roots of the vertical tail.
