This decal sheet from HGW uses a laser-cut execution that defines the shapes and edges of the subject exactly and makes accurate application on the complex surface of a biplane easier. The set reproduces the period overall coloring and the texture of the covering so that the model gains an authentic look without laborious painting of individual panels.
The Albatros D.V and D.Va were German fighter biplanes of the First World War with a characteristic semi-monocoque plywood fuselage. They were among the most widespread German fighters of their time and their covering carried the typical period coloring.
The decals are intended for a plastic model of the Albatros D.V or D.Va fighter in 1:48 scale. The laser-cut parts are applied wet like classic decals; it is best to work section by section on a smooth, semi-gloss surface and to use a decal softener so that they settle into the detail.
