This is a set of wood grain decals from HGW in 1:48 scale, whose individual panels are cut out precisely by laser beam to an accuracy of around 0.1 mm. Thanks to that the decals fit the shape of the fuselage of the Albatros D.V and D.Va fighter biplane exactly and the laborious trimming falls away. The set serves to reproduce the wooden planking of the airframe realistically.
The Albatros D.V and its improved D.Va version were among the main German fighter biplanes of the close of the First World War. Characteristic was the elegant semi-monocoque plywood fuselage, whose wooden texture this set reproduces.
Prepare the surface and lay down a suitable color base according to the type of decal. Apply the individual precisely shaped panels like an ordinary decal with the help of a softener and setting solution, which will settle the decal into every transition. Working on a smooth, gloss base is recommended.
This is an accessory for the surface finish, not a kit. The model and the paints are not included in the package.
