A Hauler photo-etched set for the British Albion airfield fueller in 1:48 scale is an aftermarket accessory for a plastic kit you have already bought, not a model in its own right.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech maker Hauler for the kit of the British Albion airfield fueller, used to replenish the fuel of aircraft. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory for a kit you obtain separately. The parts are designed for the Airfix kit.
British airfields of the Second World War could not do without fuellers - fuel was brought to dispersed aircraft stands by exactly these. The vehicle carried a tank with dispensing equipment, to which belonged hoses, reels, valves and a platform for the crew. It is precisely this small technical equipment that makes a fueller a rewarding object for an airfield diorama.
On equipment of this type photo-etched parts often replace mesh platforms, ladders, hose holders and grab handles. With platforms it pays to cut the original plastic part out first and only then settle the photo-etch in - sticking photo-etch over plastic raises the profile and it shows. Hoses, if you are making them yourself, should be shaped from soft insulated wire or from lead wire and left to sag naturally, not stretched like a string. Bend grab handles in a small bender or over a needle, so that they have the same radius.
Store unused photo-etched frets in a closed bag, ideally with a moisture absorber. Oxidized brass takes a primer less well. A tarnished fret can still be rescued, though, by a brief bath in vinegar with a little salt and a thorough rinse and dry.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit; it is not a model in its own right. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
