Black Dog 1:48 AQM-37 Jayhawk is a resin set of two supersonic aerial target drones.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin set in 1:48 scale from the manufacturer Black Dog holding two AQM-37 Jayhawk aerial target drones. They are not parts for reworking a fighter but separate cast models of the drones, which are fitted onto the pylons of combat aircraft models or serve for a display case and a diorama. Suitable as an accessory for models of combat aircraft in 1:48.
The AQM-37 Jayhawk is a small supersonic aerial target drone released from an aircraft. It was used to train and test air defenses and guided missiles; it could simulate fast targets including profiles resembling ballistic missile warheads. It has a slender rocket shape with small wings.
First wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water on account of the mold release residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw or a knife and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The drones were often supplied in high-visibility colors so that they could be seen well, which makes a rewarding subject for painting.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the carrier model are not included in the package.
