B-1B Lancer nacelles with air intakes and late exhaust nozzles (type 1), open engine bay - a 3D printed resin detail set in 1:48 scale for the B-1B kit from Revell. It is not an aircraft kit but an accessory: you have to have the base model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT an aircraft kit. It is a detail accessory set 3D printed from resin, intended for the B-1B Lancer kit in 1:48 scale from Revell - you have to have the model itself. The set replaces the engine nacelles of the model: it brings reworked air intakes, late exhaust nozzles (type 1) and a version with an open engine bay, that is, with the panels uncovered so that you can see inside. The uncovered engine bay is precisely the main reason modelers reach for this set - it gives the finished model a view inside that the plastic kit does not offer.
The Rockwell B-1B Lancer is an American strategic bomber with a variable-geometry wing (a swing wing) capable of supersonic flight; its four engines sit in two twin nacelles under the wing. Early aircraft had the exhaust nozzles covered by movable petals, which modelers know as turkey feathers. Because of vibration and cracking these covers were removed, so late aircraft have the nozzles uncovered. That is a crucial distinction for a build: you have to check from photographs of the particular aircraft which nozzles it carried. This set is aimed at the late version, specifically type 1.
3D printed parts are not bonded with ordinary cement for plastic - polystyrene cement does not attack them at all. Make the joints with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and on larger bonded areas rather with a two-part epoxy with a longer setting time. Before painting, wash the parts in lukewarm soapy water so that print resin residue disappears; otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the print supports off with a saw (a razor saw or a photo-etched file) - never break them off, because thin shapes will snap away together with a piece of the part. Sanding is allowed wet only: resin dust is harmful to health and must not be inhaled. Pre-shade the open engine bay with dark shades and bring out the edges of the panels - this is exactly where the viewer's eye will go.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without the kit. The model, glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package. The exact parts breakdown - in particular whether the set also contains the engines themselves - is not stated here; check it in the manufacturer's instructions. If you are planning a fully uncovered engine bay, count on having to build up or paint in the engine yourself.
