1:48 B-29. Masks is a set of painting masks for the glazing of the four-engined B-29 Superfortress bomber, not a kit. It serves for spraying the frames cleanly on a model in 1:48 scale.

This is an accessory for building a model, not a kit. The set contains painting masks cut to the shape of the clear parts; they are stuck on the clear part, oversprayed with the color of the frames and taken off once the paint has dried. With the B-29 this matters especially, because the real subject has extensive glazing and masking it with tape tends to be the most demanding and least popular part of the whole build. The manufacturer of the set is Metallic Details.
The Boeing B-29 Superfortress is a four-engined heavy bomber with radial engines, pressurized compartments for the crew and remotely operated defensive turrets. Its most striking feature is the fully glazed nose without a classic separate bombardier's position, complemented by vision ports on the spine and in the upper part of the fuselage. The pressurized sections were connected by a tunnel above the bomb bays. For a modeler this kind of glazing means many divided panes and frames, with which symmetry decides, and that is exactly where pre-cut masks pay off most.
First wash and degrease the clear parts, so that the adhesive layer holds. Release the masks from the sheet with a sharp knife, transfer them with tweezers and stick them on the areas that are to stay clear. Press the edges down carefully along the whole perimeter; on the glazed nose proceed pane by pane and check as you go that the masks do not overlap. Cut any uncovered sections from the waste of the sheet or complete them with narrow masking tape. Overspray the frames first with the interior shade, then with the exterior finish, always in thin coats. Take the masks off shortly after the paint has dried, slowly and at a sharp angle.
The set contains only masking parts. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
