About product

Eduard 1:48 B6N2 Tenzan / Jill – photo-etched detail set

This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds fine metal parts for sharpening plastic models of the carrier-based bomber Nakajima B6N2 Tenzan in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an airplane – it is an accessory that is glued into a base kit already under construction. The parts aim above all at the cockpit and the interior of the multi-seat cabin, the instrument panel, the belts and other small elements.

The real subject

The Nakajima B6N Tenzan, with the Allied code name Jill, was a Japanese three-seat carrier-based torpedo bomber of the Second World War. It replaced the older B5N Kate type and carried a torpedo or a bomb load. The B6N2 version was given a more powerful radial engine. The machine was put into action in the later stage of the war in the Pacific.

Usage tips

Separate the parts with a sharp knife, bend them in a bending tool and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or epoxy. Once painted and with the recesses picked out, the interior gains in modeling.

Who the set is for

  • Anyone interested in Japanese carrier aircraft of the Second World War
  • Modelers who want a more faithful cabin interior
  • More advanced builders

This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
