This is not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory from the brand Eduard in 1:48 scale, made by direct 3D printing. The set holds a complete assembly of exhaust pipes for the twin-engine Bristol Beaufighter and replaces the less detailed plastic parts from the base kit.
On the Beaufighter the exhausts are clearly visible on the sides of the engine nacelles, and their fidelity markedly lifts the impression a finished model makes. 3D printing makes it possible to suggest hollow mouths and the fine texture of the welds and clamps that injection-molded plastic cannot reach.
Separate the parts from the print supports carefully and clean the surfaces up. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways while sanding. For a realistic look apply a primer, then metallic and rusty, heat-burnt shades, and bring the surface out with pigments and a light wash.
