The UH-1N belongs to the famous Huey family of helicopters, but it differs fundamentally from its single-engine predecessors in its power: it carries a pair of turboshaft engines coupled into a common gearbox. The twin-engine arrangement brought a higher power reserve and better safety in flight over water and in the mountains. The machine served for carrying people, for communications and escort flights, for training and for supporting ground units, and in some air arms it stayed in service exceptionally long. The pair of exhausts and the longer cabin tell it from the older versions at first glance.
Prepare a gloss, smoothly sanded surface under the markings: it is on such a surface that a decal disappears into the finish without a visible edge. Trim the individual markings close to the edge, so that as little carrier film as possible is left. Once seated, leave the model to dry undisturbed and do not try to correct the position late. Finally coat the whole airframe with a clear coat in the chosen degree of sheen, so that the markings blend with the surrounding surface. On the rotor heads work in small steps and let each step dry.
