1:48 Bf 109 E-1/E-3 O-max set — an Omask masking set for the early Emils, that is, the Messerschmitt Bf 109 E-1 and E-3 in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A masking set of the O-max range from the manufacturer Omask, intended for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the early E-1 and E-3 versions in 1:48 scale. Templates prepared to measure for this type will rid a build of lengthy cutting of masks by hand and will help toward sharp, clean lines when spraying the camouflage and the markings. The E-1 and E-3 versions share the same airframe, so one set will serve for both and you do not have to deal with anything complicated when choosing.
The Emil, as the E version was nicknamed, was the first large-series variant of the Bf 109 with the Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine. The E-1 version carried purely machine-gun armament, while the E-3 was given more effective cannon in the wing. Both subtypes made up the backbone of the German fighter force during the campaign against France and in the Battle of Britain, where they clashed with Spitfires and Hurricanes in the greatest air battles of 1940. For a modeler the Emil is a rewarding subject with an inexhaustible number of camouflage schemes, from the standard European ones to the machines of units with striking emblems.
German schemes with hard transitions between fields are best managed with a combination of templates and low airbrush pressure. Layer the shades from the lightest and let every layer dry, and the edges will then be perfect.
