1:48 Bf-109E-3 seatbelts STEEL brings etched steel pilot's restraints for the Emil in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small standalone set for a modeler who only needs to settle one place in the cockpit. Steel sheet takes a sharper bend without cracking and, once shaped, stays where you put it, so a strap looks soft rather than like a sheet of tin. The parts come colored from the factory.
The seat of the Emil is slender, with a cut-out for the parachute and a high back, so the restraints stay literally in plain view once the canopy door is swung open. It is with this version that the interior is best seen, because the canopy does not slide back but folds to the side like a car door. Anyone who builds a model with an open cockpit will not be able to hide bare plastic belts.
First finish painting the seat and the cockpit tub and let the paint cure properly. Then try laying the straps on dry and look for a natural sag; two gentle curves are usually enough, not right-angled kinks. Tweezers with smooth jaws will not scratch the printing, whereas serrated jaws leave marks. Blot excess glue away with the tip of a paper tissue.
The package covers the cockpit restraints only; the aircraft itself is another item.
