A set of painting masks in kabuki tape from the Czech maker Eduard for a model of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E fighter in 1:48 scale. The self-adhesive masks are machine-cut for the densely framed canopy and for the wheel discs, so that spraying gives you crisp, clean transitions of color. It is not an airplane model but an accessory for painting; the base kit has to be obtained separately.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was a German single-seat fighter of the Second World War and the main type of the Luftwaffe at the time of the Battle of Britain. The heavily framed canopy is demanding to mask by hand, so accurate masks save a great deal of work here.
Degrease the glazing and transfer the masks with tweezers. Press them carefully into every panel of the frame, so that paint cannot run underneath. Apply the paint in thin coats and take the masks off while the finish is still fresh.
This is an accessory for masking while painting, not a model. The kit itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
