The package contains pre-cut templates matching the outline of the main wheel bays. They help keep the inner shade inside and the outer shade outside without your having to trace curved shapes laboriously.
The F version meant a deep rework of the airframe. The wingtips took on a rounded shape, the bracing struts of the horizontal tail disappeared, the engine cowling and the radiators were redesigned and the tailwheel was now retractable. The armament moved onto the centerline of the machine: an engine-mounted cannon fired through the hollow propeller shaft, backed up by a pair of machine guns above the engine. Pilots often considered the Friedrich the best-balanced example of the whole family, even though some criticized its lighter weight of fire.
Spray the inner surfaces first and let them cure properly. Then seat the template so that it beds down all the way around, and lay the paint on at right angles rather than at an angle under the edge. After removal, check the edge against the light; a small run can be touched in with a pointed brush before the clear coat goes on.
