Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard captures the late production version of the Messerschmitt Bf 109G-6 fighter. In the ProfiPACK edition the box is richly equipped: besides the plastic parts it contains color printed photo-etched parts, painting masks for the glazing and decals for five different machines. The model captures the late G-6 with the so-called Erla canopy and the option of the standard or the enlarged tailplane.
The Bf 109 was among the backbone of German fighter aviation throughout the Second World War. The G-6 version became the most numerously produced variant of the whole family; its identifying feature was the characteristic covers over the machine gun breeches on the upper fuselage. Late machines received a series of production changes including the improved Erla canopy, which gave the pilot a better view. The G-6 served on every front and carried the most varied camouflage schemes.
Use liquid modeling cement on the plastic and fix the color printed photo-etch with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a filler primer before painting and use the enclosed masks for a clean separation of the canopy frames. Lay the shades down with an airbrush; the typical German fighter scheme is a combination of gray tones on the upper surfaces and a light underside, which can be complemented by mottling on the sides.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories beyond the contents of the package are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
