The Quickboost (Aires) set in 1:48 scale holds a precisely cast cover of the gun section for the late Messerschmitt Bf 109K. It is a detail accessory, not a kit of the airplane: the resin cover replaces the plastic part from the boxed kit and offers finer surface detail, including the characteristic bulges over the guns.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109K (Kurfurst) was the final production version of this fighter. The upper part of the engine cowling was given prominent bulges (the Beule) covering the synchronized guns of larger caliber. These shapes are characteristic of the late versions, and on a model it is worth rendering them as faithfully as possible.
Wash the part free of mold release residue, separate it from the casting block and bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Take care over a smooth run of the cover into the surrounding areas of the fuselage.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted, as a resin detail set. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
