A resin cockpit for the Messerschmitt Bf 110D-3 in 1:48 scale from Aires. It is not an airplane model in its own right but a detail accessory that replaces the cockpit of the kit with faithfully cast parts. The set usually contains the cockpit tub, the instrument panel, the seats and the rear radio operator and gunner station, with rich detail under the glazed canopy.
The Bf 110 was a twin-engine heavy fighter, the Zerstoerer, of the Luftwaffe, crewed by a pilot and a gunner. The D version is associated with larger fuel capacity for long-range operations. The long glazed canopy reveals the interior, so a detailed cockpit shows clearly on the finished model.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and sand with your airways protected. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Test-fit the cockpit tub and adjust it before the fuselage is closed. Bring the instrument panel, the seat belts and the canopy framing out with a fine wash.
This is a resin accessory for a kit, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
