This resin and photo-etched accessory set by the Czech maker Eduard serves to replace the engines of the plastic kit of the four-engine Boeing B-17F bomber in the large 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail set for experienced modelers. The set contains a set of faithfully cast radial engines with a fine structure of fins, cowlings and photo-etched items.
The Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress was an American heavy bomber of the Second World War, powered by four air-cooled Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engines. It is precisely the open engine nacelles with the units exposed that are among the most striking details that can be rendered on a model of the Fortress.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut the casting blocks away with a saw and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Apply a primer and bring out the metal shades with a wash and a dry brush; the fine plumbing and cylinders will stand out once the photo-etched parts are fitted.
The accessory set does not contain the airplane model itself. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
