Eduard 1:48 Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress, wooden floors and ammunition boxes is a photo-etched set for the interior of a model of the American heavy bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is an accessory for a kit, not a model of the aircraft. By its name the set is aimed at two particular things inside the fuselage, the wooden floors and the ammunition boxes. Both are clearly visible on a large bomber, because the fuselage has glazed and open gun stations. The manufacturer is the Czech company Eduard.
On the real aircraft the floors inside the fuselage were made of planked sections, which a plastic casting suggests only with shallow engraving. Etched metal makes it possible to build up a floor at a scale thickness with a sharply legible structure. The ammunition boxes then fill the spaces around the gun stations, where the interior of a model tends to be empty and looks unnatural at first glance.
The Boeing B-17F Flying Fortress was an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War period powered by Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engines. The F version differed from the older series among other things in modifications to the nose and the powerplants. The inside of the fuselage was laid out around the bomb bay and the individual gun stations.
Finish and paint the interior before you glue the fuselage halves together. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the bends in a bending tool. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue and apply a primer to the metal. A wooden floor can be imitated faithfully with a light base and a few thin oil glazes drawn along the direction of the planks.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
