Eduard 1:48 Boeing EA-18G Growler is a Big Ed bundle of accessories for building a model of the electronic warfare aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
Big Ed is the form in which the Czech maker Eduard sells several of its accessory sets for one kit together in a single box. It is not an aircraft kit: you have to have the model itself, this is a bundle of accessories for it. Big Ed bundles for aircraft models combine photo-etched parts and masking sets; check the make-up of the particular box and the number of sets on the packaging.
The EA-18G Growler is a two-seat carrier-borne electronic warfare aircraft derived from the F/A-18F Super Hornet. It differs from the basic version above all in its equipment for jamming and for surveying the electromagnetic spectrum, which is carried in underwing pods and on the wingtips; in place of a gun it carries a suite of electronics. It serves with the US Navy as a specialized escort machine. For a modeler that means a lot of antennas, pods and complex surfaces, which is exactly where accessory sets pay off.
Separate the photo-etched parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel or photo-etch shears on a hard surface; bend them in a bending tool or between two blades, not with your fingers. They are glued with tiny drops of cyanoacrylate applied with a pin. Never overspray the pre-painted colored parts, as the printed color is the whole point of them. Apply the masking film to a clear part only after it has been polished, press it down with a blunt stick and spray the frames in layers: first the interior shade, then the exterior camouflage. Remove the masks as soon as possible after the paint has dried, so that they do not lift it.
The set is an accessory for a kit; the kit itself, glue and paints are not included in the package.
