1:48 Bombcat Weapons Set is a decal sheet from the publisher Furball Aero-Design with markings for the underwing armament of the Tomcat in the strike role. It is an accessory for a kit you already own, not a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
Underwing armament tends to be the least finished part of a whole build. Bombs and rockets are supplied smooth and without lettering, yet on the real aircraft every piece of ordnance carries color bands, technical lettering and warning markings. This sheet is intended precisely to add them. The nickname Bombcat arose for F-14 Tomcat machines equipped for dropping bombs, that is for the strike missions that this originally fighter type took over in the later phase of its service. The publisher is Furball Aero-Design, an American specialist in decals for naval aviation.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a twin-engine two-seat carrier fighter of the US Navy with a variable-geometry wing. It originated as a fighter for the long-range defense of a ship formation. In the 1990s it was supplemented with equipment for precision bombing, and in that role it served until its retirement in 2006.
Paint the ordnance and let it dry thoroughly; stores are easily rubbed by handling. Before the decals, go over the bombs and rockets with gloss clear; on cylindrical bodies a smooth base matters even more than on the fuselage. Apply bands around the body of a store onto a damp surface and wrap them on gradually, so that they do not wrinkle anywhere. Use a decal softener sparingly and let it act without touching. Once dry, unify everything with matte clear; ordnance tends to be flatter than the airframe.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory for a kit you already own. The kit, the armament, paints and glue are not included in the package.
