Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI 3D interior 1:48 (Quinta Studio)

A combined interior set from Quinta Studio in 1:48 scale for models of the twin-engine Bristol Beaufighter Mk.VI. Besides the colored 3D decals printed on a decal backing paper, the set also contains 3D-printed resin parts that add the three-dimensional elements of the cockpit. The colored elements have real relief and pre-printed lettering, but they have no adhesive of their own. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit.

The real subject

The Bristol Beaufighter was a British heavy fighter and strike aircraft of the Second World War, used as a night fighter, a torpedo bomber and a ground-attack machine. The Mk.VI version was one of the most widespread. Its roomy cockpit therefore offers a rewarding space for detailing.

Use

• the colored elements are cut out, soaked for about fifteen seconds in lukewarm water and slid off the backing paper into place
• the resin parts are cleaned of any casting remains and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate)
• the surface under the decals must be clean, degreased and coated with a gloss varnish on which the elements hold; do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, they attack the printed resin
