A resin replacement nose for a model of the Bristol Beaufighter in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Bristol Beaufighter is a British twin-engine combat aircraft of the Second World War. It was created as a heavy fighter with powerful gun armament in the nose and gradually became a machine for night operations and for attacks on shipping. The nose is precisely its hallmark: short, blunt and full of equipment, so everyone looks at it when building a model.
A replacement nose section of the fuselage for a Beaufighter model in 1:48 scale. The part is resin and replaces the corresponding part of the kit. Depending on its form it may be a part that seats in place of the original, or one that requires you to cut the nose off the kit first. The particular procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Before you reach for a saw, draw the cutting line in pencil and cut rather further from it, because material can be taken off at any time but not added. Seat the new part dry, check the axis against the fuselage from above and from the side, and only then glue. Resin is not polystyrene and cement for plastic has no effect on it, so use cyanoacrylate glue. Strengthen the joint with a wire pin, then fill and sand the seam until it disappears under your fingers. Wash and degrease the whole part before painting. Restore any engraving lost during sanding with a scriber before the base coat goes on, otherwise the transition between the new part and the fuselage will show.
For modelers who want to change the shape of the nose on a Beaufighter or to replace the part from an older kit. A model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
