Responsibility details are not available.
A large-format base with the Canadian national flag. The board of acrylic 3 millimeters thick measures 410 x 270 millimeters and weighs around 410 grams, so it will carry even a sizeable aircraft in 1:48 scale without moving underneath it. The small thickness at the same time does not raise the model so high that it hits the shelf above in a display case.
Canada worked its way to its present banner only after a tense parliamentary debate; it came into force on February 15, 1965. It consists of two red vertical fields at the sides, a white field in the middle and in it an eleven-pointed maple leaf. Until then the country used a banner derived from the British pattern, which after gaining independence was ceasing to suit. Within a few years the new banner became one of the most recognizable in the world.
The format of 410 x 270 millimeters will manage a combat aircraft or a smaller transport machine and room is left for a figure or a ground cart. A flag as a base communicates the allegiance of a machine at once, without your having to describe anything on a label. It serves well under a pair of smaller models placed side by side too, for instance when comparing an older and a newer version of the same type. At a competition the large format holds its own even among densely occupied tables.
The board arrives finished; it is enough to lay it down and add a model.
