The Hauler 1:48 CCKW-353 photo-etched detail set is for the model of the American GMC all-wheel-drive cross-country truck. An accessory for a plastic model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Hauler in 1:48 scale for the plastic model of the American CCKW-353 truck with six-wheel drive. The set is cut for the Tamiya kit. It is not a model of the vehicle but an accessory that replaces plastic parts where their thickness is most conspicuous in this scale.
The CCKW was a cross-country truck with a load capacity of about two and a half tons, built by GMC. The form with the longer wheelbase carried the designation 353 and became the backbone of Allied logistics, because in enormous numbers it supplied units with everything from ammunition to fuel. The vehicles were used with a canvas as well as an open cab, with and without a tarpaulin, and their appearance differed according to the production batch and according to what a unit had loaded onto the bed.
On trucks it is precisely the thin items that decide credibility: the radiator grille, the running boards, the tool brackets, the metal fittings of the bed, the hinges and the frames. Plastic produces them in a form far more robust than reality calls for. Work from the bottom upwards, that is, the chassis and the running boards first and only then the cab and the bed, or you will break off finished parts while handling the model. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer. If you are building a vehicle with a tarpaulin, it pays to paint it separately; a removable tarpaulin makes room on the bed for a load and figures.
This is an accessory set, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
