An accurately turned metal barrel of the British Ordnance QF 17pdr anti-tank gun of 76.2 mm caliber for the M10 Achilles self-propelled tank destroyer in 1:72 scale from MASTER. The part replaces the plastic barrel with an accurate, concentric metal part with a sharp muzzle. It is not a standalone model.
The M10 Achilles was the British modification of the American M10 tank destroyer, rearmed with the powerful Ordnance QF 17pdr anti-tank gun of 76.2 mm caliber. This gun was among the most effective Allied anti-tank weapons of the Second World War, and its long barrel with a muzzle brake is characteristic of the Achilles.
Clean the metal barrel up lightly, degrease it and bond with super glue. For good paint adhesion, apply a primer suitable for metal. A metal part ensures accurate concentricity and resistance to bending.
