A replacement propeller for a model of the Curtiss-Wright CW-22B in 1:48 scale, prepared for the Dora Wings kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss-Wright CW-22 was an American two-seat monoplane from the end of the nineteen-thirties. It was used for the advanced training of pilots and for light observation duties, and the crew cabin was arranged in tandem. The version designated CW-22B belongs to the same range.
A set with a replacement propeller in 1:48 scale. The propeller is the part that catches the eye first on a finished model: it is seen against the light, the shape of the blade and the hub can easily be compared with photographs, and simplification tends to show on the thickness of the blades as well as on the leading edge. The set is prepared for the CW-22 kits from the firm Dora Wings, so the dimensions of the mounting answer to their parts.
The parts are not polystyrene; they are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little clear of the part, sand the remainder with fine sandpaper and take care with the thin blades, which bend easily. Wash and degrease the propeller before painting. Apply the paint in thin layers so that the edge of the blade is not lost; the particular color scheme of the propeller differed between the users of the machine, so go by the references for the particular aircraft.
For modelers who build the CW-22 in 1:48 scale and want a sharper propeller in place of the part from the kit. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
