About product

Barrels for the Kongo, Ise and Fuso classes 1:350 (RB model)

A set of turned metal barrels in 1:350 scale from RB model. It is not a ship kit but a detail accessory that replaces the plastic barrels of the main gun turrets of the Japanese battleships of the Kongo, Ise and Fuso classes. The metal holds its shape, has drilled muzzles and is more durable than plastic.

The real subject

The battleships of the Kongo, Ise and Fuso classes all carried main guns of 356 mm (14 inches) caliber and 45 calibers in length, of the Type 41 design. These ships were part of the backbone of the Imperial Japanese Navy and took part in the fighting of the Second World War in the Pacific. The characteristic long barrels are a prominent part of their silhouette.

Usage and painting tips

Clean the barrels up and set them into the turrets with super glue. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base for metal, then the shade of the deck and the armament. Metal barrels come out especially well on models with a higher level of detail.

Who the set is for

  • builders of Japanese battleships in 1:350
  • modelers after sharper detail on the barrels
  • collectors of the Japanese navy
  • advanced modelers working with metal

The package holds only the turned barrels, not the whole model. Glue and paints are not included.
