Responsibility details are not available.
The Dornier Do 217 was a German twin-engine bomber of the Second World War which followed on structurally from the lighter Do 17 and was built in several different versions. The K series can be told from the older machines by its newly designed glazed nose, which is smooth and has no stepped windscreen. The K-1 version is the basic form of that series.
It is a set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale from Eduard production. Photo-etch makes it possible to produce features which on plastic are either too thick or cannot get into a mold at all: grilles, loops, buckles, instrument panels and similar thin shapes. The set is designed for a particular Do 217K-1 kit; which one exactly is given in the manufacturer's instructions, and the placement of the individual parts follows those as well.
The parts are held on a carrier sheet by small bridges. Cut them through with a sharp blade on a hard surface, never snap them off, or the part will twist. Make the bends in a bender or by pressing against a straight edge and following up with a second blade, so that the edge comes out sharp and in one line. They are glued with super glue applied in a minute quantity, for example with the tip of a wire; excess glue floods the fine relief. Before painting, degrease the metal and use a base color intended for metal, or the finish will flake off later.
The package contains a photo-etched sheet. The kit, paints, glue and decals are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
