MH models 1:48 airbrush masks for the markings of the Dornier Do-17Z-7 night fighter. A set of self-adhesive templates for the ICM kit for spraying in paint; they are neither decals nor a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
Night machines are usually built in dark shades on a model, and it is precisely on those that the edge of a decal is most visible. This set from MH models therefore offers a sprayed finish: the template is stuck onto a finished coat of varnish, paint is applied through the cut-out and once it is removed the insignia is left without film, without gloss and with a sharp edge. The set is cut for the Do-17Z-7 kit from ICM in 1:48 scale, so please check the match with your model in advance.
The Dornier Do 17 was a German twin-engine bomber with a slim fuselage. Conversions for night fighting also came out of its last production Z series, and the Z-7 form is among them. On these the glazed bomber nose gave way to an opaque nose with onboard armament, while the rest of the airframe and the radial engines stayed essentially unchanged. Only a small number were built, so this is a marginal and all the more interesting variant.
Light insignia on a dark finish need a base, otherwise they stay grayish. Spray a thin opaque coat under the color, therefore, and only then the final shade on top of it. Press the mask down around the whole perimeter of the cut-out, spray perpendicularly and in thin coats. Take the template off while the paint is flexible, slowly and at an acute angle. Leave the matting for the end, after all the masks have been removed.
This is a modeling accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The kit and the paints are not included in the package.
