An injection-molded plastic kit of the American piston-engined attack aircraft in 1:48 scale from Tamiya, in USAF markings. According to the manufacturer the box holds a detailed engine with a four-blade propeller, a well-appointed cockpit, a wide choice of external stores, a pilot figure and decals. The quality and accuracy of the Tamiya molds make this a very rewarding build.
The A-1 Skyraider was an American single-seat piston-engined attack aircraft with a powerful radial engine, designed to carry a large load of bombs and rockets. It was famous for its exceptional load-carrying ability, long loiter time over the battlefield and toughness. The A-1J was one of the late variants, and USAF Skyraiders made their mark in close air support and rescue missions during the Vietnam War.
Use liquid cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit and the engine before closing the fuselage. The kit allows you to show the flaps, air brakes and landing gear in optional positions. Apply primer before painting and lay the paints down with an airbrush; paint the external stores and bombs separately and fit them at the very end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
