The 1:48 Douglas A-4M Skyhawk mod. 1975 LooK item from Eduard contains a resin instrument panel finished with color printing, matching the later period of the machine's service.
Responsibility details are not available.
On models in this scale the cockpit tends to be the most closely watched place and at the same time the most laborious. What is on offer is a resin casting with printed instruments that replaces the front wall from the box and raises the level of detail in a single operation. The LööK brand is covered by Eduard. The year in the name specifies which period the form of the equipment belongs to.
The Skyhawk came about as a protest against the trend of the day toward growing weight in combat aircraft. The design team went for simplicity and the machine came out so compact that it managed without folding wings and still fitted onto carrier elevators. The type stayed in production exceptionally long and went through a series of changes to its engine, avionics and armament. The M version was the culmination of the line, served with the Marine Corps, and some of the aircraft lived to see later upgrades that were reflected in the form of the cockpit. Besides its American users, the machines appeared in foreign air forces as well, and some lasted in active service into the twenty-first century.
Check the shape of the opening in the fuselage dry before you reach for the glue – with resin parts a little refinement of the edges is normally expected. First wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water; residues of mold release agent would otherwise prevent adhesion. I would recommend finishing the surrounding areas of the cockpit first and fitting the panel at the very end.
The offer covers only the add-on part, which assumes a base model has already been bought.
