A replacement KM-1M ejection seat in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified part from the kit in the place that is most visible in an open cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A replacement part for building a model of an aircraft fitted with the KM-1M seat. In an open cockpit the seat is the most striking element of the whole interior, because it stands in the middle and the viewer looks down on it. Kits, meanwhile, usually solve it with just a few coarse shapes without fine definition.
The KM-1M is a Soviet ejection seat of the Cold War period. Seats of this generation already allowed a machine to be left even at lower speeds and altitudes, and they therefore have the characteristic build with a tall backrest, a telescopic section and controls along the sides of the pan. It is exactly these shapes that make a model cockpit plausible.
Change the seat when you leave the cockpit open or when you build a model without a pilot figure. With the canopy closed only a fraction of it stays visible and the difference from the kit is lost. Always check in the documentation first whether your aircraft really was fitted with this seat.
Cut the surplus material away with a sharp blade a little from the part and sand the remainder, so that the edges are not damaged. Seat the seat dry, adjust the cockpit floor as needed and only then glue it. Apply the paint in thin coats, use a dark shadow in the deep places and highlight the edges instead with a dry brush.
The package contains the part named. The kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
