The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter is a single-engine supersonic aircraft with a markedly short trapezoidal wing and high-set tail surfaces. The Italian Air Force operated the F-104S version, which went through a weapon-system upgrade program designated ASA and then a further stage of modification, ASA/M. That concerned mainly the avionics and the cockpit equipment, which is exactly the area where the model differs most from the older versions - and where accessory sets pay off.
With a bundle of several sets it pays to lay out the order of work before you start gluing: what goes into the cockpit has to be finished before the fuselage is closed up, while the external items come only after the base coat. Try the parts dry first, sand the mating surfaces as needed and glue spot by spot with cyanoacrylate. The slender fuselage of the Starfighter is prone to sitting back on its tail, so keep checking that the model stands on its nose gear - any ballast has to be sorted out before the fuselage is closed up.
