1:48 F-106A, stencils for the national insignia and markings. The insignia are sprayed in paint instead of applying decals.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set does not deal with the cockpit but with the national insignia and markings of the F-106A aircraft. The stencils are applied to the skin and the insignia are sprayed directly in paint, so no carrier film and no visible edge are left on the surface. The name of the item carries the designation of the target kit.
A sprayed insignia is part of the finish, not a layer above it. Silvering under a decal, which appears mainly on a matte surface and on riveted areas, falls away with it. The paint moreover matches exactly the shade you use on the rest of the model, which with decals is never the case. Another advantage is that the insignia does not ripple over an irregularity, over an engraved line or over the edge of a panel, where a decal tends to kink.
For modelers who want to reach a faithful surface on this delta-winged interceptor with no glossy rectangles around the insignia. It makes sense especially with matte and semi-matte schemes, where decals give their presence away most. It is usable as well where the original decals in the kit have yellowed or fallen apart.
