A resin detail set in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer Quickboost (Aires brand). It is not an airplane kit but an accurate replacement for the cover of the internal gun in its early form, for a plastic model of the American Grumman F-14A Tomcat fighter. The part is finely cast with a faithful shape and perforation, so it replaces the simplified plastic cover from the box and sharpens the nose section of the fuselage.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was an American carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing and for many years the backbone of US Navy fighter defense. Among its armament it carried a built-in rotary cannon whose cover had a characteristic form on the early aircraft. It is exactly these small differences that decide how faithful a particular version is.
Wash the resin part to remove any mold release agent, cut off the casting block carefully and test-fit it; bond it with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Prime the cover, blend it with the color of the fuselage and bring out the perforation and the engraving with a fine wash; set the metal areas apart with a steel shade.
This is a resin detail set, not a kit. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package.
