Quinta Studio 1:48 F-14B: a 3D-printed colored interior is an add-on set for bringing out the interior of a plastic model in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of an aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from Quinta Studio brings a color-printed cockpit interior for the F-14B Tomcat on decal paper. It is not a kit of an aircraft but an accessory for a plastic model: it brings out the instrument panel, the side consoles and the rest of the cockpit equipment. The features are already colored and broken up, so picking out tiny instruments with a brush falls away.
The Grumman F-14 Tomcat was a carrier fighter with a variable-geometry wing whose task was the long-range defense of a carrier battle group. The F-14B version received General Electric F110 engines, which solved the problems with thrust and reliability of the original powerplant and made the machine a considerably better aircraft across the whole envelope. The crew consisted of a pilot and a weapons systems officer in the rear cockpit; the two stations differ markedly in their equipment, and on two-seat machines bringing them out is especially rewarding. Tomcats served the US Navy until the mid-2000s.
First assemble the cockpit dry and think through the order in which you will apply the individual features, from the large surfaces to the small controls. The base should be smooth, dry and free of grease; it is usually better to sand the raised plastic imitations of the instruments away. The work goes easily with sharp tweezers and good light. Let the finished interior dry properly and only then go on to close the fuselage up, so that nothing shifts.
