Flyhawk 1:700 photo-etched sheets for HMS Hood 1941 replace the plastic railings, ladders and other thin parts.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory for ship modelers in 1:700 scale from Flyhawk. The package holds sheets of photo-etched metal parts for a model of the British battlecruiser HMS Hood in her 1941 state. With them you replace the plastic railings, ladders, platforms and other structures that injection-molded plastic cannot capture at this scale. The set is cut for the kit from the same maker, which has to be bought separately.
HMS Hood was an exceptionally long ship with a slender hull, which gave her speed but also a silhouette full of open decks, bridges and railings. It is exactly these features that decide the final impression on a model: plastic railings are always several times thicker than the real thing, whereas photo-etch a few tenths of a millimeter thick looks exactly as it should. The difference shows even from a distance, because a thin silhouette lets the light through.
The set is intended for experienced modelers. The ship kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
