The designation big set puts this item above the partial sets from the same brand: instead of one place it treats the model more comprehensively. For the builder that means getting a more pronounced change in the finished machine, but also having to think the procedure through in advance. Behind the collection stands Black Dog, and it assumes gluing into a fuselage already under way.
The McDonnell Douglas F-15 is a twin-engine fighter designed for air combat, with a large wing area and a pair of vertical tails. The versions with a tandem cockpit came about for training and for full operational use, and the second seat called for a rework of the fuselage spine. It is this area that gives the model a different silhouette from the single-seat version and is worth attention during the build.
Dry-fit the model first and mark all the places you will be working on. Lead the work from the coarser reworks to the fine ones, so that sanding dust does not settle on surfaces that are already painted. Keep checking whether the fuselage halves still close without strain. Plan the painting in whole sections and leave the last fine accents until the very end of the build.
