An Eduard photo-etched metal set for a model of the two-seat F-15E combat aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-15E is the two-seat strike version of the American F-15 combat aircraft. It grew out of the original fighter and is built for attacks on ground targets in all weather as well. In the rear seat sits a second crew member who operates the systems and the armament. On the sides of the fuselage, along the air intakes, the aircraft carries conformal fuel tanks, which let it keep a long range without having to fill all its racks with fuel.
A photo-etched fret is a thin metal sheet with parts etched out chemically. They are separated from it, bent to shape and glued onto the model. Metal holds its shape even where a plastic part would have to be several times thicker, so photo-etch is used for seat belts, brackets, handles, grilles and small faces with fine relief. A two-seat cockpit means twice the work in a space you can see into well under the canopy. The extent of the set and the kit it is cut for are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For builders of present-day military subjects who want to push the detail of a model past the limit of a plastic kit. Working with photo-etch calls for calm and a steady hand, but the result shows on a finished model at first glance.
What is supplied is the photo-etched set. The aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
