Eduard SPACE 1:48 F-16D Block 30 is a set of 3D decals for the interior of the two-seat version of the F-16 fighter. An accessory for a kit that gives the cockpit three-dimensional detail.

A SPACE set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard in 1:48 scale, intended for a model of the two-seat F-16D Block 30. SPACE is Eduard's range of 3D decals: the artwork is not flat but carries three-dimensional relief, so the interior of the cockpit gains depth without bending photo-etch. It is an accessory for a kit, not a model and not a kit.
A photo-etched set has to be bent, glued and as a rule painted as well. A 3D decal is lifted from moistened backing paper and arrives finished in color, so the route to a detailed cockpit is considerably shorter. On the two-seat F-16D that counts twice over — both cockpits have to be fitted out, and detailing two instrument panels by hand takes a lot of time.
The F-16D is the two-seat variant of the F-16 Fighting Falcon light multirole fighter. Block 30 belongs to the generation equipped with the F110-series engine and, compared with the earlier blocks, brought changes in the powerplant and in the avionics. What matters for a modeler is that the individual blocks differ in cockpit equipment — the instrument panels, the side consoles and the arrangement of the displays are not interchangeable between blocks. The set for Block 30 is therefore not identical to the sets for Block 40 or Block 50, and you have to choose the one matching the machine you are building.
Prepare the surface under the decal smooth and clean. Moisten only the backing paper, lift the element off with tweezers and transfer it without sliding; it is fixed with PVA glue (white glue). Do not use a decal softener or a decal fixer, as the chemicals attack the printed resin and would ruin the element. Before closing the fuselage up, check with a dry test fit that the parts meet without pressure.
