Photo-etched reinforcement straps for a model of the F-16D in 1:48 scale, in steel, are a detail accessory for the surface of the fuselage. It is not an aircraft kit.

A set of photo-etched reinforcement straps for a model of the two-seat F-16D in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. The steel version is marked STEEL: steel photo-etch is springier than brass, holds its shape better and takes a smaller thickness, which suits long narrow parts that follow the surface of the fuselage. It is not a kit but an accessory to a plastic model.
The F-16D is the two-seat variant of the single-engine multirole F-16, used for training as well as for combat tasks. During service, external reinforcement straps appeared on the airframe, that is strengthening elements on the surface which on the real machine stand out only slightly but are clearly visible from close up. In injection-molded plastic such a detail is either not molded at all or only faintly suggested, so photo-etch is the natural choice for rendering it.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and never break them out, otherwise they will bend. Degrease the surface of the model before gluing. Apply the long narrow straps gradually, hold them with tweezers and glue them in spots with cyanoacrylate glue, that is with super glue, or with a thin adhesive intended for photo-etch; excess glue shows later under the paint. Steel photo-etch can be shaped gently with the fingers over a soft pad so that it follows the curve of the fuselage. Once dry, spray a primer, which unifies the metal with the plastic and ensures the adhesion of the paint.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
